Q: What type of sessions do you offer?
A: I specialize in the custom portraiture of newborns. I adore working with newborns, so I decided to focus my business on exclusively working with them.
Q: Do you ever offer family or children's sessions?
A: Sometimes. I specialize in newborns, but I do offer Mini Sessions a few times a year. These are short 20-30 minute sessions. They are perfect for updating family portraits or capturing a few portraits of your children. Locations and times are selected by me and spots are limited. Q: Do you photograph large groups or extended families?
A: No. I no longer photograph large groups, extended families or adults alone.
Q: Where do your sessions take place?
A: All newborn sessions take place at my residential studio in Thomasville, North Carolina 27360. The studio is located in my home and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. I love getting to know my clients during their session.
Q: Do you have a studio?
A: Yes. I do have a residential studio. The studio is located in the lower level of my non-smoking, pet friendly home. It's conviently located off Interstate 85, minutes south of the Trinity/Thomasville area of North Carolina.
Q: Can I see a full price list before scheduling a session?
A: Yes, absolutely. I will provide my full price list to all potential clients. I feel this is important as professional custom photography is a wonderful investment that you and your family will treasure for generations to come. As with any investment, I know planning ahead is important. I want you to be able to properly plan for your portait investment with us. Q: Do you require a minimum order?
A: Yes, our minimum investment is the Keepsake Collection. It includes a Custom USB with all the fully edited, high resolution images from your gallery. Also included is a complete set of premium 6inch x 4inch keepsake prints of every image. Your custom USB will contain high resolution images for printing, web size images for sharing online, and a license to print for personal use only.
Q: Why do you have a minimum order?
A: We noticed that 99% of the inquiries we received asked if we offered digital negatives. So we decided to give our clients (and potential clients) what they are asking for. Every person who works with Jody Gall Photography will receive all the final images in their gallery. All of them. We don't want you to have to decide which images of your newborn you'd like. We firmly believe you should have them all. And because of this, we have a minimum investment to make sure all our clients get all their images. ;)
Q: Do you schedule sessions on the weekends?
A: Yes and no. Just like most of you, weekends are my family time. I will schedule one session per Saturday. Saturday sessions fill up very quickly. Jody Gall Photography is closed on Sundays.
Q: When should I have my newborn photographed?
A: Newborns should be photographed within their first 14 days of life. During this time they are very sleepy and curly. They are much easier to move and pose during this time.
Q: When should I book my newborn session?
A: You should book your newborn session while you are still pregnant. I suggest scheduling during your 2nd trimester. My schedule can fill up quickly as I only schedule a limited number a sessions per month. We will add your due date to our calendar. Once you give birth, you will contact me to schedule the session date/time. Obviously due dates can vary greatly from when your little one actually arrives, but tentatively scheduling due dates allows me to know how many sessions I have scheduled a month. I only schedule a limited number of sessions per month.
Q: Can I schedule my newborn session in the evening?
A: No. I schedule all newborn sessions in the morning since they take several hours to complete. We will schedule a 3 hour block for your session, usually from 9am-12noon. Please do not make any plans after your scheduled session just in case we run over.
Q: My newborn is already here, can I still schedule?
A: Maybe. I purposely leave space in my schedule for surprise newborns. Call me right away to see if I have availablility.
Q: My newborn might be in the hospital longer than 14 days, can I still schedule a newborn session?
A: Yes, absolutely!! I do make exceptions for any medical reasons, like premature births, time spent in NICU, surgeries, etc.
Q: I'm expecting muliples, do I still have to schedule within 14 days of their birth?
A: Maybe not. I do make exceptions for anyone expecting multiples as they tend to arrive early and typically have extended hospital stays in NICU. I like to schedule multiples within 4-5 days of them all coming home. Please feel free to call me if you are expecting multiples so we can talk about all your options with scheduling.
Q: How long does a session last?
A: Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours. Mulitiples can last longer.
Q: When do I get to see my proofs?
A: All edited proofs will be uploaded into a password protected gallery within 2 weeks of your session. You'll be able to send the gallery to friends/family and order any upgrades you may like to add to your Collection.
Q: How many final images will be receive on our USB?
A: All galleries will have 30-50 fully edited proofs. You will receive all the final proofs in your gallery, even if the number is greater than 50.
Q: How long does my gallery stay online?
A: All galleries are available for 7 days for viewing and ordering. If you need additional time after your gallery expires, there will be a $50 fee to re-activate your gallery for 7 more days.
Q: Once my order is placed, how long does it take before I receive my order?
A: Due to the custom nature of our products, all orders are available for pick up only. Jody Gall Photography will contact you when your order is completed to schedule a date, time and location. Most orders are ready for pickup within 3 weeks of placing the order with my lab. Custom orders can take longer.
Q: When do I pay for my order?
A: Payment is due at time of ordering. No orders will be placed with my lab until payment is received in full. All sales are final.
Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash, paypal and credit/debit card via paypal.
Q: Do I have to pay sales tax?
A: Yes. I am required to charge sales tax on session fees and products. Since I operate my business and conduct all sessions in the state of North Carolina, a 7% sales tax will be charged on all orders.
Q: What is the Client Area and why can't I access parts of it?
A: The client area is an area of my website that includes everything you need to prepare for your session (and for after your session). It includes portrait agreements, pricing guides, what to expect sections for all our different types of sessions. Everything you need is all in one spot. You will easily be able to plan your investment with us, sign our portrait agreement, read the informative what to expect section, and go to our photo cart for viewing your proofs and ordering after your sesssion. Several of the areas are password protected. You gain access to these areas once your portrait agreement is submitted.
